Ghost Prints
Mother Nature is an artist
She can leave behind ghost prints
Images of a time in the past
They make us pause and wonder
What was here?
How did this happen?
Palm fronds imprinted on the asphalt.
The imprints are fragile
and won’t remain long
Just long enough to mark something that once was
The artist can also leave ghost prints
to show what once was here
Leaves that were once on trees
but are no longer there
Wisps of the past
Fish of the past? Or fish yet to come?
