The Shape of Things
In clouds there are ships
Rolling across the sky
On undulating cirri
And only minutes later
They transform into doves
And simultaneously drift
And dissolve into the blue
When fabrics are scrunched and immersed in dye baths, the dye concentrates in the folds and creates patterns that resemble clouds, birds, flowers.
You have to use your imagination to see those shapes just like when you watch clouds moving across the sky. But it causes the viewer to look deeper and to wander across the artwork, which is what the artist intends.
